Firebird/Trans Am cooling fans

Are all the 5.7L F-body cooling fans the same? Did the Firebird/Trans Am get a different cooling fan? Are the LS1 cooling fans an upgrade from the L98 fans or should I get an aftermarket fan?

What r u trying to do and what is the question?

I believe all third gen dual fans are the same, I know they are interchangeable and they work quite well.

The biggest issue are the factory fan switch turn on temp and the temp programmed in the prom for the main fan. Its the reason our cars will run at 220-230 stock.

Put in a 180 stat, make the primary fan come on at 185-190ish and off at 178-185 and get a turbo buick high speed fan switch which is on at 205 and off at 197 for the second fan.

U will run cool with pretty much any small block combo(factory style)

I dont know for sure about the LS1 fans, they may have slightly higher cfm ratings due to even hotter underhood temps than our cars. I have no proof of this. I dont know of flow numbers on them here, but if they are not here try ls1 tech or the like.
