Cr@p or not?

Guys/Gals-

eBay Motors: Late Model CHEVROLET V8 HEI Distributor 3year (item 8055576039 end time Apr-17-06 18:47:34 PDT)

Is this distributor any good? It is quite cheap. I don't actually have a distributor and I was looking for one for a future TPI retro-fit project I am working on. I'd rather not roll the dice with a salvage yard piece.

Thanks!

Some people have done okay with off-brand distributors, others have had problems. You might ask them to post a picture with the cap removed and looking straight down at the distributor - corrosion was the previous complaint that comes to mind (no idea personally, otherwise).

(See if you can shrink that photo.)

Never heard of that brand, but I'd be willing to bet it's made by one of the big name companies and sold under the cheaper brand.

Heres a smaller pic so it doesnt make the board format go way out to lunch!!

Looks like that piece needs a bit of TLC, runners got a fair sized ding in it!

Nahhh... that is a relief in the side of the SLP runner so the coolant line to the throttle-body doesn't get in the way. I'm still in the process of polishing the whole set up. I just slapped it together for the photo as I laid the harness out next to it.

I guess as long as the distributor works and works well it doesn't matter who makes it. It is going into a weekend cruiser, not an 1/8 mile terror. As long as it fires the wires and doesn't eat the cam I'll be happy.
