Flat cam
I was reading this morning in my Hot Rod magazine and have heard in a few other areas that cam manufactorers are having alot of cams going flat...I guess people are saying the oils dont have the same additives, some say the quality control for cams is worse, some say the lifters just arent any good any more..And have heard that the profiles are killing the cams too...What do you think?? Pretty crappy that we are having cam issues now. You would think with all the technology we have that we would be able to better this and not worry...

I just had a crane solid cam go flat in the first 5 minutes. I think that the material is crappy. Sub standard for high performance motors.

I wiped 1 out during break-in.
They're taking a lot of the additives out of oil nowadays. Be sure to use GM EOS (engine oil suppliment) during break-in of a new cam.
