Crud, everybody is going to laugh at me tomorrow. (No start issue)

Sorry for the no search, it’s late and I don’t really have research time.

I have a few questions but basically, the car doesn’t start. Seems like no power to the starter because there is no click, only a click coming from the fuse box area The starter relay?

The story is, after a long drive in the rain and quite a few unavoidable puddles Saturday night, and after being parked all day in the heavy rain, I now have the stated condition and I would like to know what are some of the most common this that I can check.

I did stop Saturday night and the car fired right up but Sunday afternoon gave me squat.

Again, sorry for not searching and thanks for any advise.

P.S. Would anybody happen how many teeth a 91 305 flywheel has offhand?

Thanks

Scott

Sounds like something got wet. I would check the fuses and relays in the areas that could have gotten wet. As far as the flywheel goes I believe it has 168.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
A 91 flywheel will be 12.8"; 153 teeth.

Click from fuse box area = starter relay operating

Of course, whether current is actually passing through it, is a whole other question.

Check for the presence of 12V (in Start) on the wire that brings power to it, and on the wire that leaves it going toward the solenoid.

Seems that way unless it was just a fluke because my starter wouldn't engage with the flywheel every now and then and it decided to crap out that day.
