no compression
ok i just dropped in a new motor in my car couldent get it to start when i put the dizzy in i put my finger over the #1 spark plug hole while somebody turned the engine over but i couldent really feel any preasure it sorta just tryed to suck my finger in rather than push it out. and when i put a compression tester on it it gets a 0 reading on all the cylinders. what could this be could the motor not be turning over fast enough.

possible causes, valve lash adjusted too tight ( causing the valves to be open all the time) , missing head gaskets, improper valve seat machining, Cylinder heads not torqued down.
Usually its the valve adjustment. Its easy to mis read "0 lash" when initially adjusting a hydraulic cammed motor.
Readjust the valve lash using the "intake closing (adjust the exhaust valve), exhaust just opening"(set the intake valve) method of correctly positioning the crankshaft so that the valve you want to adjust is closed and the valve lifter is on the "Heel of the cam lobe" that you want to adjust. Carefully watch for the clearance to be just removed in the valve train ( before the lifters plunger starts to compress) (the push rod may still spin between your fingers at the "0 lash" point. Then tighten 1/2 turn further to preset the lifter plungers "preload" Test each cylinder for compression by holding your finger over the spark plug hole while spinning the motor over with the starter. If the cylinder(s) have compression the compressed air will definatly forcefully lift your finger off the spark plug hole during the compression stroke of each cylinder.

I 'spose it could also be dead lifters, but that is highly doubtfull that all of them would be bad, and especially on a new engine. probably valve adjustment, like he said

yep thats what was wrong with it the rockers were on to tight thanks guys.
