Switching AC compressor from driver side to passenger side
I'm trying to clean up my engine compartment (there are hoses, wires, etc. running everywhere, looks horrible, hard to work on), and I noticed that some people have the compressor on the driver side (like mine) and some on the passenger side.
Has anyone moved it from one side to the other? It looks, mechanically, like it'll work. I'm out of town this weekend, but I'll be trying it next weekend (have to replace the compressor anyways, might as well).
I'm planning on having the compressor and alternator swap places, as it looks like the belts will work out well, and that should let me eliminate hoses running everywhere.
Thoughts?

i've not heard of anyone doing this w/o going to serpentine, 1 belt system. there are just a rew changes that must be made. i had it done to my car after obtaining the parts; worked out very well and looks much cleaner. here is a good tech article:

Ahhhhh k, that's what I keep seeing then.
Yeah, that's definately what I want to do, I just kept searching for it, and didn't see anything.
Thanks for the great tech article! (and for any mods reading, that should go in the tech articles section. May seem obvious for oldtimers, but us n00bs who pour over those pages will appreciate it.)
Again, many thanks!
