well ive started having issues with my oil pressure when i start it it stays at about 60psi and when it warms up at normal driving it is around 35-40 well when i go to slow down to a stop light or something the oil pressure drops rappidly sometimes to ZERO!!!! well ive added a new sending unit and it is full of oil since i changed it tonight. im thinking either the gauge is goin bad, pump pickup has fallen off or mabey a main bearing going bad but its a new rebuilt motor with about 1500miles on it!? it does not knock or peck or anything so i wouldnt think a bearing is going out, im stumped and this is realy worrying me so if anyone can help me PLEASE!!!

 

Try using a mechanical guage and post up some results.

 

that is my next idea mabey someone i know has one i can use so i dont have to go buy one just yet so i know if thats my problem. if it is just the guage im gona go ahead and order a few new gauges at once

 

check your oil level again regardless...and put a mechanical guage on it.

 

i can do it almost seems like its leaking from somewhere but wen you look for it its not so im stumped

what oil do you use?

when I switched to mobil one (synthetic) from dino oil my guage went vertical, and when running exceptionally hot it would hit 45.. Since my last oil change it goes from 60 cold to 45 hot at idle. The only time I have ever seen my guage stay at zero is the start up when i first change the oil.

If you changed brands that maybe due to foaming

 

i dont think its burning it it did a lil when valves were a lil off before i had to pull the heads but didnt very long since i quickly readjusted them. i went from penz 10w-30 to Castrol Gtx 20w-50 when i did replace the sending unit it got better but not still acts funny once warm but psi is a lil higher w/ the 20w-50
