ok i've done a search & havent seen anything exactly like my problem.
went to track today and after the last run i shut the car off for a few minutes then my nephew started it drove to the lanes and shut it off.sat for app. 10 minutes went to start it & no deal .starter move the motor maybe 100th of a turn & started making a grinding noise.now that is all it will do.
I tried to turn it by hand & no deal crank bolt actually started to turn so I quit

I read about the hydrolock but it seems everyone was driving when this happened.could this be it?

 

difficult to tell, it's possible.. best solution is pull all the plugs and crank it.. if water comes out you'll need to pull the head on the offending side. if it still doesn't turn you either have a starter problem or a worse engine issue.

 

yeah I will pull the plugs asap it is . 100 degrees out here & been at the track all day till now so I figured I would let it & me cool off.

I just had an engine hydrolock on me. I couldnt get the car started and replaced all the wires an plugs and it started right up but it was blowing white smoke. I turned the car off tried to restart it but it locked up on me. It didnt even turn more that twice before it locked up. Not sure what kind of damage it does when you hydrolock an engine while trying to start it. I plan on ripping off the heads and dumping tranny fluid or oil down the cylinders and letting it sit and then try to get it to crank. I guess I wont know what kind of damage it did till I get the heads off. Anyone have any experience with this? Its my wifes car so I didnt know what to expect.
