HP question

i have an 87 FB formula and i looked at the tech base for HP and lg4 has either 165 HP or 170 HP how is there a way to tell which rate it is? besides dynoing?

not much difference in 5 hp. Check the engine numbers on it. than look it up. think its also the seventh letter in the vin that gives you the enigne class.

if you look closely it says that regular firebirds and camaro LT's with the lg4 got 165 HP, and formulas, trans ams, irocs, etc. with the LG4 got the 170.
