Finally I think Im buyin one!

Well after searching for a 3rd gen...i think I am buyin one tomorrow. I know who the guy is and seen it there forsale for about 2 months. I am calling him today or my buddy will since its his GF bro. It apears to be a 86ish Z28 Roller. It was red bf but someone painted it blue...supposofly a spray bomb but its in mint shape last time I check and shines nice....so they deff took there time .
I almost actually was gonna get a 5.0 Fox stang bc my moms bf wants one to but I would rather have a camaro.
Details anyways...

86ish Hard Top z28 Roller
Blue
Red interior.....that will change hahaha
car is in good shape
500CDN OBO....I think I am gonna ask him 500 Towed to my buddys house since the guy works for a towing company.

Plans......so far there is a guy selling a 327 on my local boards and a TH350...do u think this setup would be decent?

TH-350 trans for sale
mid length tail stock
B&M Shift kit
2500 Stall Converter from World Wide Converter
400

1968 SBC 327 (stk. bore)
-steel crank
-4 notch flat top pistons (cast)
-stock rods
-camel back heads with 1.94/1.50 valves (462 castings)
-Offy aluminum intake
-Weiand Alu. Valve covers
-Gm HEI dist with MSD pick-up
-short style water pump
-fuel pump block off plate
Motor ran 13.2@104mph in my beetle
looses oil pressure when hot but did run when it was pulled.
Motor is complete less carb.

$650.00

So basically I could have a nice camaro for a total of like 1500 bucks.

The motor wouldnt stay stockish I would Have big plans for it and want to be a 12 sec car....maybe some 11s on n2o ...I would abviously build the drivetrain like aluminum shaft, gears, stickies etc

Let me know what u guys think!!!

that motor is being sold because it's scrap. Plan on a $1000 rebuild on it, minimum. Probably closer to $2000 if you want to use nitrous, or go fast in general, and have it run half way reliably. I wouldn't even touch it, 'cuz even after you dump a pile of cash into it to get it running fast, it's still only a 327 (less cubes), and the parts that you can re-use on it, aren't great.
Lets not get into the 327vs350 arguement, and lets not even bring up the fact it went 13.2 in A BEETLE. My is to skip that motor.

Car sounds ok.

Tranny, that won't have the torque arm mount correct? You'd need a new tailshaft from a different trans. Not sure how easy that is. Ie if you can get one from a very common V-6 3rd gen TH700-R4 in the wrecker, and use that. Or if it'd be more difficult. Wait for a more knowledgeable answer on this one.

It kinda sounds like you're a mcdonalds parking lot racer. Just a vibe I guess, $1500 and plans on going 11's... Kinda makes me uneasy.

Sorry to rain on your parade eh?

Well I wasnt expecting to run 11s on a big shot without money into the car thats forsure..The car will be a project for the next year or two.
I went and looked deeper into the car and I think Im gonna pass bc he ended up ripping the dash out completly, steering etc.
Body is straight but some rot in the wheel wells.

oh well I will continue to look.
i am gonna search for the # for a 82 firebird with a 350 swap already done to it.
