Heavy Duty Hood and Hatch Shocks

I just placed a new hood scoop on my car and a new (heavier) spolier on the hatch. I would like to know if there are shocks to lift a heavier hood and hatch. The standard ones, just can't hold the additonal weight.

Thanks,

I would think by the sound of it, that your struts were going bad as is, and are really weak, providing BARELY enough force to lift it prior to your modifications.

I got a brand new OEM set after mine crapped out, and it practically throws the hatch up. I can't imagine your spoiler being over 20lbs, because that seems to be the weight needed to get the hatch back down. Same goes for the hood.

I agree. Get a new set of struts and you should be fine.

Ok, I'm going to purchase the standard ones. I hope you guys are right. Hate to shell out the money to not have them lift. The rear spoiler is a double verison of the standard OEM one.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Still, a new strong set of struts should hold up that weight.
