i'm guessing my fuel pump is dead/almost there when i get down to 4 gallons left (used 11 of 15 possible) the car stalls on corners and runs like crap unless wide open. any thoughs. also how hard is it to change your own fuel pump i dont want to mess my car up, but i dont want to pay a greasy shop boy to do it either.

 

what motor is it? I mean, crossfire or TBI shortblock?
I'm thinking block mounted pump (easy to do), but maybe you have the in tank pump. Yea, it's hard to do, lots of stuff to remove. But paying a shop is even more expensive $80/hr times... 6-7hrs or so? No specialty tools needed by you, but it's time consuming.

Get a fuel pressure gauge, it's a free rental from autozone or wherever. Check your pressure. Then replace you fuel filter, it's VERY cheap, and far easier.

 

ive got a 83 crossfire, i modified the top end to have tbi, better gas millage and performance, way more power cam helped too. i dont see where on the block it would be i installed all new gas lines in the engine compartment. so it would have to be in the tank right
