Fuel Pump, Fuel Pressure, and Sputtering Questions...Help!
Long Story short. Went to pick up my new camaro in indiana last weekend and we ran into problems while driving it home. There was a sputtering/surging at low RPM's when trying to accelerate. That along with a huge coolant leak forced us to leave it in indiana at a chevy dealer and pick it up at a later date (next week). They just replaced the fuel pump because it was throwing code 45 i believe. They said it was 5 lbs. too low (im guessing they meant 5 psi below what the fuel pressure should be). My question is, could only 5psi less than normal cause this sputtering/surging, or is there another problem?
As far as the sputtering/surging was concerned, it only happened at low RPM's, most prevelant during rush hour congestion that we experienced. It was not constant, but was a prescene during the initial part of the ride.
I just need to know whether or not the dealer replacing the fuel pump has solved the problem (they say it did, as they just roadtested it), because when we pick it up its still got another 500 mile trip so we cannot have it break down again because we are already incurring thousands of dollars of added expenses due to these problems! Any help is greatly appricaited!

As for the sputtering and surging at low rpms it may be the catilytic converter. My car was surging and actually dying at low rpms/idle. It took a while but the shop finally noticed my catilytic converter was COMPLETELY clogged up. After replacing it my car runs better than ever.

Well what i'm trying to figure out is if 5lbs. too low of fuel pressure would be the cause of any sputtering/surging??????
