Hessitate,stumble, stall..

Im having a problem with my carbed 305 87 formula, my timming is set at about 7-8*.It idles fine but when putting the car on a load it will stumble if I keep the gas pedal down it will stall. I kinda havet to ease it from a stop to get it going. Any ideas what i should be looking for to fix this problem? Ive been looking to make sure all the vacume lines are hooked up and cant seem to find anything wrong.

Could be a clogged fuel filter, could be choke sticking or not set properly or could need a good tune up. Also have you checked for any codes??

replaced the fuel filter a few weeks ago. The car has been tune up within the last 2 months (new spark plugs, wires, dist cap, rotor, thermo, oil changed..etc). The choke does seem to have a stick to it when moving it by hand but from what ive read that after the car is at normal running tempature the choke stays open? The car will do this all the time (not only when cold) as for codes it wasnt throwing any, yesturday I got a code 44 tho.
