383 or 355

Ok I have been looking around at some rotating kits and thought i had it down to one 383 kit. this kit came with cast crank, rods and hyper pistons. this would have been fine for me but i really wanted to go with 6 in rods but i couldn't find a kit with in my price range. well i found a kit yesterday that came with cast crank, forged 6in rods and forged pistons but its a 355 kit. I am looking to build my motor to the specs of one built by Chevy HiPerformace in a few issues back. they ran a 383 and put down close to 400 HP with the Vortec heads. I am wondering will the extra 28 Cubes with the 383 make that big of a differece or will i be ok running the 355 kit, also could i run a small shot of nitrous with the 335 kit seeing as the crank is cast? thanks and sorry for all the questions

i wouldn't worry about the rod length all too much and just buy a kit that you can afford. the extra cubic inches would be an advantage over a 355 anyday of the week.

383 all the way.I promise you that you'll notice the extra 33 cubes much more than .3" of rod length.
