tbi on pre -87 heads

tbi on pre -87 heads
is there anyone with a part# for and intake for TBI onto pre 87 heads, will a 2 barrel carb intake work? thanks for any info

No, a 2 bbl manifold is completely different. You can elongate the 4 center bolt holes around the EGR passage on the intake and it will bolt on fine. Just use a washer to cover the slight gap. Don't forget some thread sealer on the intake bolts.
The other choice is a dual plane carb style intake with a center mount TBI-Carb adapter.

hey thanx man u wouldnt know a p/n for that adapter plate, cus i got a edelbrock dual plane from a older project and i would rather take that route thanx again

summit sells a wide variety of tbi to 4bbl adapter plates with different mounting options. they arent in the regular catalog, but u can find them on summitracing.com. check it out, you'll find one that is best for your specific application.

At my shop we do alot of tbi swaps on our muddin trucks that run pre 87 heads. We got together with this guy at affordable fuel injection. Fuel injection conversion systems for all efi needs! and he sells adapter plates that let you bolt a factory tbi to a 4 barrel intake. We have had good luck with them and he should be able to help. I havent seen the plates on his website but just call him and he should help you out.
