88 Firebird not getting fire
88 Firebird not getting fire
I purchased this car and it was running rough.....I changed the plugs and plugwires....no change......I put a new rotor button and dist. cap on and then I couldn't get it to crank......I made sure the firing order was put back on right (I'm pretty sure).............then I put a new coil on.......still won't crank.......I guess the Ignition module is next but I wanted to get some suggestions from ya'll first.......
Thanks,

Man, I have had SERIOUS problems with modules before and it sounds like that's where you're headed.
Be sure to double and triple check all of your connections. In particular, check the way that you have the coil mounted. Did you mount it back to your original bracket or what?
You'd better check the fuel pressure as well, I think...

i know this will probably not help... but after i did a tune up (plugs, wires, diz cap, rotor) i forgot to plug the diz cap? or the connection to diz cap back into the power plug
that may be the simple solution for you, but i seriously doubt it!

I think the module is the first thing I would have checked. Hook a timing light up to any spark plug wire and see if your getting spark, if you are check the fuel pressure. If your not, replace the module.
