head light motor problems, NOT THE NORM!
so the other day my drivers side headlight motor stopped responding as quickly as it normally does. it might take 5 minutes to go down.
so i checked my relay, and well, the relay is clicking. the motor is engaging, but the slightest assistant given to the wheel on top, and she'll go down in a hurry.
last night i parked and the light stayed up, went outside to goto school and it was still up. Figured i'd put it down so the car didn't look stupid.
the motor was hot, like really hot, the motor i think is having some kind of trouble spinning those internals. Has anyone had this sort of problem?
I have both lights replaced from an 86 trans am. From what i've heard they are the best lights to have, the motors will last forever, but the relays just take a **** all the time. which i have come acustomed to, have spare relays just in case.
how can i fix this before that motor is burnt out permanantly.
the headlight will go up with a quickness, but not go down so easily...

Its likely not the motor, but the arm that lifts the light. Sometimes it can go past center against the stop and lock into place, preventing it from going down when you want it to. Some minor adjustment to the arm mounting on the light can fix it.

and you were right, at further examination the bracket that connects the motor to the rest of the housing, cracked, and was bringing it a considerable amount past center... sucks though, because it cant be welded back, that cheap chicken wire melts... trip to the junkyard i suppose...
