Damn 981 springs

Getting coil bind with the 981 springs, LT4 hotcam and 1.6 rockers. Traded my compcam 1.6 rockers for a 1.5 crane gold race set, and boy they look good! Changes the lift from .525/.525 with the 1.6s to .495/.495. Going to be better for my heads and intake combo I think. Just thought I'd share...

Anyone else using these rockers?

Right; the 981 is only "rated" for use up to .500", so it's not "technically" adequate for a .525" lift application. But that would depend on the height they're installed at. Which if they were at their recommended height of 1.700", they should have been OK, even if not ideal, at that lift. Shouldn't have been into bind already, for sure.

What was/is your installed height?

I don't know off hand. I'll know all the details this friday once I go back. I just ordered new springs/retainers as I don't want to take the cam out again etc. Should be fine now.
