Question on hesitation
Hey guys,
Car is a 91 Z, 305 TPI, auto tranny. When the car is cold, it gets up to speed ok till it hits about 50mph. Then it acts like it just doesnt want to go anywhere. Its most noticable in OD, but while it isnt as bad in Drive, its still there, and only when cold. Once the car gets up to operating temp, it accelerates fine. I'm getting an intermittent Code 44 which I THINK is for the knock sensor. Any ideas?

Code 44 is for a lean mixture (IIRC the knock sensor code is 42?). Either the oxygen sensor is going bad or your fuel injectors might be plugged, would be my first guesses.

Check that you're getting spark to each plug as well. A cylinder not firing becomes more noticeable as you pick up speed.

Ok, thanks for the tips guys. I have some newly cleaned and flow matched injectors at home waiting to be put in anyway ... guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.
