Can I use these valve covers?

My father in law has a set of chrome valve covers he just replaced on his 40 Ford street rod. He is running a carbed Chevy 350.

Can I swap these out on my stock 305?

If they are centerbolt valve covers, then yes, you should be able to. If they aren't, then no... not without a set of valve cover adapters.

How do I tell if they are centerbolt valve covers? Is it something really obvious ... like they have a bolt in the center of them?

I've never taken valve covers off ... is this hard to do? The driver's side looks like an easy job ... the passenger's side on the other hand ...
