I have no spark!! 87 TA 305 TPI.
I do have an Accel module in the distribuyor & I'm going to change it today.
I just pulled injectors & had them professionally cleaned & flow tested.
I put them back & changed distributor cap (MSD).
I was having a problem with starting after the car had been running before injector cleaning. It would start cold fine but after I drove it the next start it would refuse to start for awhile & then just crank up fine. I thought it was injectors leaking by but I they didn't leak by when flow tested before cleaning.
I didn't have a fuel pressure guage before but I do now.
If I squirt in starting fluid no start either so no spark. Fuel pressure is fine.
When a module goes could it go slowly & give me starting problems like described? Before staring fluid made car turn over till fluid was used. Could the module fire the plugs but not give signal to ecm to fire injectors?

Check the easy stuff first if you haven't already...like all the connections to the distributer and coil. If everything seems ok then take your ignition module off and have it tested, most autoparts stores can test them. If its not the ignition module then its probably the coil. Either way its an easy fix assuming you have no spark like you said before. You may want to buy a spark indicator tool too, that way you know for sure if you have spark or not.

This is really frustrating, I changed the module in the distributor back to the ac delco unit. I took it to autozone & they tested it, it was OK. I put it in & still nothing. I pulled the plugs & changed them(gas soaked from so much trying to start). Still not running. Put spark tester on #1 plug showed spark.
I wonder if I messed up firing order when changing dist. cap. Niether cap has a #1 spot marked & things got a little cramped trying to change wires. I tried to go off of how the cap was molded (like first pole past hold down screw towards passengers side of car was #1. It sure would help rule that out if someone new correct location for #1 wire on cap. I have firing order diagram but if I started out wrong it won't help.
