Electric or vacumed?

I'm looking in the coming weeks to get out there an tear this 350 out and send it out getting turned into a 383 stroker with a low vacum cam, specifics i'm not sure ... its a cam the shop uses with this build ... but without the specs known my main question is for the year of this car, its a 90 camaro iroc-z 5.7 TPI 4 wheel disk brakes. What all is controlled by the computer which i'm getting rid of like my torque converter and are the brakes electric or vacum controlled and whats the best way to look and find out .... i'm worried i won't have enough pressure .... if everything is electric i should be ok ??

holy cow, your sentence structure is an impediment to understanding!

Yes, vacuum assisted brakes. You don't need a huge amount of vacuum to run them though. Options to fix it (assuming that the vacuum is THAT low) ; vacuum can, or power steering hydraulic assisted brakes.

Now, how are you getting rid of your torque convertor, and why? I missed that point there.

What is your new form of induction? not the stock TPI setup I imagine? Carbureted? Find out what cam they are wanting to use too.

wow, lmao ... yeah i can see where someone would of gotten confused ...

Ok lemme try that again ..
I'm not getting rid of that TC lol, it was a problem i was expecting of it locking up converting the TPI ( ) to carb for starters ... Reading around i've decided that a manual lockup switch would be ideal for me ... pending on the cam "which i don't have specs of yet, didn't talk with the shop" .. I've also read issues with some features like cruise control but thats mainly affected at pedal, shouldn't be a problem .... i wanted to convert my front end brakes to somemore type grunt calibers ... will i have vacum for anything aftermarket ... i've still reading around looking for best ways for this year to convert to carb ... emissions is excempt ... it'll stay that way. And the last one off the top of my head would be ... how is the steering affected also? .. i like the tightness, would i get mild or more play? ... and while were at it would anyone know a good intake setup for a 383 stroker or again get the specs then ask that question? ... hope i typed that clearer ... its late again..

Also, re-reading the first post .. it was supposed to be ...
What all is controlled by the computer which i'm getting rid of ... Like the TC (Wasn't the lockup COMP controlled?) and brakes ... =)

The torque converter clutch is controlled by the computer.

The brakes are hydraulic with vacuum assist. The computer has nothing to do with them.

Yes, much clearer!

steering won't be effected at all.

you'll throw trouble codes left right and center, so just pull that bulb.
Mixture control and whatnot is controlled by the computer, but you'll be losing the computer and going carb, so most of the computer features aren't needed anymore.

Main thing is the torque convertor.
Not sure about kickdown (TV?) cable schmutz. I think it's worth looking into.

intake - you want it to match the rest of the combo, so find out what's going into the motor, then go from there. Don't even bother looking into prices like what's a good deal, what's not, if it's a good deal, but doesn't match your combo - pretty bad deal right?
