Edelbrock base & Runners HELP!

Well here's the scenario, 92 trans am 5.7l. I bought the Edelbrock tpi intake and runners. Went to put them on today and found out the rear injectors hit the runners. So they don't fully seat into the intake. Needeless to say I was upset. I called Edelbrock they say I have the wrong intake. Bought the runneres and intake are sold as a complete setup. They keep trying to tell me it's because I have stock heads. I don't know what that has to do with the fuel rail and injectors. The intake fits just fine on the block, everything lines up. So I think I'm just going to send these back to summit. Has anyone else had these types of fittment problems? I need a good set up that will bolt up without any major altering. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

Contact the Summit techs. Stupid question do you have the runners on the correct sides? The Edelbrock tech I talked to wasn't very knowledgable. That setup is supposed to be C.A.R.B legal, 50 state emission. That is defined as a a direct factory stock replacement here in CA. Wouldn't be if the heads had to change. I just put the manifold on with AS&M runners and had no issues other than the injector rail didn't align too well with the mounting bosses. Not much though and a little file work fixed it. The injectors still have to meet the intake runners at the stock location. I'm in agreement with you on the heads. No bearing on it at all.

i was going to ask the same thing, they go different angles, but im not sure if the bolt holes line up on the opposite sides, see if your plenum fits correctly, that would be a dead give away.

the accel runners that i have say in the instructions that there is a chance the injectors will hit that you may have to grind some material away from the runner area.
