Loss of power
Has anyone else had this problem or could tell me some trouble shooting tips...
I bought my 87 Iroc with a 305 and drove it for about two weeks and everything was great (except for what I knew I already needed to fix, mostly with suspension). Then, during the third week of owning this car, I noticed a loss in power and the engine doesn't sound as strong coming out of the tail pipes.
I have a Valve Cover Gasket that I have to replace, but would that cause it or should I be looking at other things as well?

Engine: 350 TPI & 305 TBI & 305 Carb
Transmission: 700R4
If there is not a check engine light on then I would start with basic tune up stuff. Plugs,wires,cap&rotor.
