Fuel Pump Relay Noise
So I was having trouble with a code 54 for a while. I changed the fuel pump relay, and now the car starts fine. But, I still do not hear the fuel pump prime when I turn the key. Also, the new relay makes a buzzing/Whining noise when I turn the car off. Is this normal?
Would the fuse back by the gas tank have anything to do with this??
Like I said, the car starts fine now but no prime.

There is no fuse by the gas tank. There is a fuse (usually) in the pass fender well beside the battery - you might check it.
The fuel pump only primes as a function of the ECM. The relay controls the power for this priming. The priming only occurs prior to starting. After priming, the oil pressure sending unit routes power to the fuel pump when starting and running.
Getanother $8 relay and see if it makes noise - maybe you just got a bad one. Maybe some of that helped.
