MSD timing

ok i am trying to set my timing and get it right. I have a snap on timing light. but my msd is realyy messing with the light. it is giving a different reading everyflash. i heard of setting timing with a vaccum gauge but i am trying to setup my motor right and be able to run no2. i want to make sure my timing is perfect. if anyone has any ideas on a timing light that will not jplay havvoc with my msd i would appreciate it or if you know another way to set timing. thanks

My cheap-o Sears Craftsman light has always worked fine with an MSD.

The MSD in my vette makes my dial back timing light jump around, have a cheap none dial back and it works fine with it.
