HEI question(s)

hey, as some may now i am dumping th e350TBI for a carbed 338tt. and i have a couple questions.

1) will an HEI dist. be a good choice for a turbo SBC?

2) since i am going carbed i want to get rid of the wiring harness and ECM, so i will need a non coputer controled dist. how do i know for sure if it is comp. controled or not?

3) If iget rid of all the wiring harness and ECM how do i wire the dist.?

4) a)would it be easier to ditch the wiring/ECM or should i keep it? I would like to use as many stock gauges as i can. b)what gauges does the ECM control?

Sorry for all the questions, this is my first non fuel injected car. I have been all DSM/imports most of my "car life".

An old school coil-in-cap non CC HEI dizzy will only require you to hook up a 12v+ keyed power source and your good to go. Very simple and easy to install.

But in your case i think you might be better off running an aftermarket ignition, because your most likely going to be needing boost retard!

OK, something like the 6BTM by MSD? Like i said i have NO experience with this yoe of thing. everything beofre was just bolts ons, i used what everyone else was using as there are millions of DSMs out there.

so if i went with the 6BTM how does that all work with the dist.? and what type of dist. would i want to use? I am searching right now so i can help eliminate some of my stupid questions...
