vortec style baseplates

first, im running a 92 L98 trans am, mild mods, for now. its winter here and im puting together a parts list to order after x mas. i have already decided to go with a set of aluminum vortec heads of ebay. i want to keep my car tpi so i did a serch of vortec style baseplates on the site here. now since i already got my heads and they are built for the cam im getting, i need a baseplate. after i did this serch here, i found there are 2 types of baseplates that vortec guys are using, sdpc and edelbrock. what one is better. edelbrock is 450 bucks and sdpc is 400. when i did this serch i come across a thread that said that they are actually the same baseplate, and they are both made by edelbrock. is that true?

To the best of my knowledge, they are both made by Edelbrock.
