hello all, this question is really about my truck but I thought you guys could help me out in my decission. Ive got a 88 4x4 with a 355, stock tbi heads, headers, intake, holley 600 carb, and a comp xe262 cam. The valve springs are shot in mine as well as the seals. IVe got a brand new set of 193 heads with back cut vortec valves and new lt1 springs and seals. I did this over vortec bc i picked them up freshly rebuilt, and ready to install for $150 bucks. This is my beater/trash hauler/backwoods toy. Im wanting to go with a little smaller cam due to the lift limit of the springs these heads have on them as well as I want something a little milder. The guy I bought the heads off of recommended a summit 1102 cam for the truck..any thoughts, like i said this is just a beater so im not looking to spend a fortune hence the 193 heads.
