Axle/Gears: Posi 3.42
Rear End Casting Number ?

Can't find where the casting number would be on a factory 1989 Camaro RS Rear End would be? Its old and I will get out the ole wire brush as soon as I know where to dig. Thanks-

IIRC, the number is on the front side of the pass axel tube. I'd be very surprised if you find anything. If it's a 10-bolt and if you're searching for ratio popping the diff cover and looking might be easier:

Numbers are stamped on the ring and pinion:

41 : 15 = 2.73
40 : 13 = 3.08
42 : 13 = 3.23
41 : 12 = 3.42
41 : 11 = 3.73
