coolant gaskets???
what gaskets kep coolent from entering the engine itself that would give you white smoke?
on a v8 5.0 305 TPI fuel injected 1986 trans am
on a v8 5.0 305 TPI fuel injected 1986 trans am
Coolant entering the engine will usually produce white smoke/steam from the exhaust. The common places for leakage are head gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, and on a TPI, the coolant passage on the underside of the throttle body can sometimes (if the TB is cracked) introduce coolant to the IAC air passage.
There is also a remote possibility of head or block cracking if the coolant has frozen.
Between performing a thorough visual inspection, a cooling system pressure test, and a cylinder leakage test, you should be able to determine which it is.
