WHAT EXACTLY DOES TCC SOLENOID DO IN 700R4

YEAH JUST TRYIN TO FIGURE OUT IF I FRIED MY TCC SOLENOID CAUSE WHILE TRYIN TO SET MY MINIMUM AIR RATE ON MY 86 IROC 5.0 TPI I PUT THE PAPER CLIP JUMPER BETWEEN PINS F(TCC SOLENOID)and E(160 serial data output +5vdc)on aldl cause i thought pins A and B were top left but i found otherwise and my tranny is slipping a little when switching gears now and it never did before ,trans is full of fluid and kickdown is set correctly,any ideas? any help would be greatly appreciated!thanx,joe

You couldn't have damaged the TCC solenoid by doing that.

would i have damaged anything ?else im just tryin to cover all bases i have alot of $ invested,i appreciate the reply.

Years ago I found out the hard way that paperclips and OBDII don't really care for each other. Blew a lot of stuff on a 99 Z28.

Ditto, but with a brand new 98 Accord before I knew any better. $.45 for a fuse, $245 to replace it at the dealer.

I doubt you damaged anything. The TCC solenoid is fairly robust and the output for the serial is protected. The most likely thing to be damaged in that scenario would be the serial output, as the TCC solenoid would try to make ground through the serial output. Doubtful anything would happen, though.
