im so confusied

allright so i bought another project f-body and its really confusing me....thursday i pulled the starter because i was unable to get the engine to turn over took it down had it tested failed so purchesed a new one and installed it today go and hop into the drivers seat turn the key nothing no dinging, no cranking no nothing so i think batt i hook up cables to my truck try and get any type of charge outta it nothing. the batt is brand freakin new and the only thing ive done is the starter any ideas on what my problem is guys?

is the solenoid wire getting power when the ignition key switch is in crank position

if not then try a new ignition switch

or make sure the shifter is all the way in park or neutral

check the wiring on the shifter assembly, make sure the plug is not loose

also under the dash is a larger purple and a larger yellow wire, jump them together with a paper clip

but only if the solenoid wire is not getting power in crank position
