I have a 91 Camaro RS, 3.1 Engine. I have a steady antifreeze leak. It is coming from the back of the block. I have removed the pan that covers the torque convertor and flywheel. If I use a flashlight and look at the back of the block, in the limited space that I can see, there is a steady stream coming from a pinhole somewhere below the cylinder head on the drivers side. I can't tell if it's the block, the head gasket, or a frost/freeze plug.

Does anyone have a picture of the 3.1 block from behind?

I do not remember if there are any freeze plugs located on the back of the block (in the bell housing) but a VERY common problem with the 3.1 is the intake gasket, it will leak front and back. If you see oil where the head meets the block then you will more than likley have a coolant leak. I would bet it is the intake gasket.

There is a steady stream coming from a pinhole somewhere below the cylinder head on the drivers side. It's below the head and spraying out in a small stream, hitting the flywheel and running down.

I can't see the 'hole', but I do see a steady stream coming out so I know roughly where it is from. If I could see a picture or layout of the back of the 3.1 I could tell what is causing the leak better.

If it's the head gasket I can pull the head, if its a frost plug I can drop the tranny to get at it, if it's a hole/crack in the block I will need to pull the engine.
