i found a 88 z28 with TPI 305 /700r4 combo and 2.73 rear with posi, my car is a 91 rs with 305 tbi , i can get the heads off the 305 tpi car for free my question is if i port and polish them will they unleash unough power to make it worth the hassle of changing heads?? i have headers and 3 inch exhuast already, or is the cam not going to allow much of a pwer gain? i hate to change cam and have to get into chip burning im only shooting for mid to high 14s in this car.

 

I think those heads are worth swapping over, especially after ported.
They'll really show their strength with a bigger better cam as well. But you can put that off for now.
