my 88 gta 305 tpi makes a kind of loud ticking some when accelorating and is really low when idle, well i cant really get it to idle because it turns of and i cant get it timed when i get down to about ten degress it stumbles and turns off so back to my first question will the ticking be a injector or like a valve an asnwer help

 

it could be an exhaust leak also

 

yeah it has a small leak by the air tubes would that make it make so much noise

 

well, i know my injector makes a ticking noise. take a screwdriver, rest it agains the injector in question and put your ear to the screwdriver. if the sound is isolated in that injector and only heard in the screwdriver, you found the problem. as for a valve, i wouldnt be sure honestly.

 

If it gets louder under acceleration, that's exhaust. The other possible sources either wouldn't get louder with acceleration, or wouldn't be heard under acceleration.
