serpentine belt problem

I have a friend who has a 90's camaro and his ac compressor is locked up and the belt is burning and he can't drive the car.
Is there anyway to bypass the ac so he can drive it till he can repair or replace the compressor.

What can he do to make it drivable.

Re: serpentine belt problem

The only way I know of would be an AC delete pulley. That would probably be about the same price as a junk yard compressor. Maybe someone else has a different idea.
