I have an 89 Camaro with a 350TPI and 700r4 tranny. When driving on the highway at about 60-65+ my car starts acting wierd. While accelerating, if I slowly depress the gas pedal, the car does not give me much response if any. However if I floor it, the car takes off as usual. It almost feels like the overdrive or lockup have a mind of their own. Something definitly feels off about it. I already adjusted the TV cable but no change. Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Trans Problem?
I'ts not a huge thing but there is definitly something wrong. I almost thought I was just hearing/feeling things but im pretty sure im not. Why all of the sudden would I notice this if it was always like that? Also when I start the car it almost sounds like it knocks but louder. Only when it's been sitting and cooled down. One more thing, it seems to have no problem when I don't use overdrive. I think I have narrowed it down to a definite trans problem but just want to see if anyone else ever experienced anything like this. I plan on taking it in to have the trans checked out considering it was rebuilt only 6 months ago but I dont neccesarily trust the place I got it done at and don't wanna get screwed by them. Thanks again for any help guys.

Re: Trans Problem?
Unplug the TCC connector from the transmission and see if the "problem" goes away.

Sounds pretty normal...

I wouldnt expect much throttle response from an engine sputtering along at 60mph locked up in OD. At that low of an RPM its lucky to be able to hold constant speed at part throttle, let alone accelerate if you just barely push the pedal!

Re: Trans Problem?
Well i just got back from the trans shop and all it was was a cable adjustment. I guess it was normal, but because the shift points were off it felt differant. Still can't figure out the noise i was hearing but like i said, it could be a noise that was always there but i was looking for something wrong because i thought there was. Anyway everything seems good now. I just didn't want to get screwed by the trans shop. Thanks for the help guys.
