well got her put all back together and seemed to run as before, plenty power, just wandering, lopey idle, well after playing with it on the scope,#5 had a unusually high firing line,so let's pull the plugs, and #5 was all carboned up,here's the compression test, all cylinders as is(no adding oil for wet test)
#1 165 #2 170
#3 155 #4 155
#5 40 #6 140
#7 165 #8 175 pulling @12inHg @ 750rpm idling
may do cylinder leakage test to determine further actions, but for now just drive it like you stole it!!hehehe
shame didn't know then what I know now

how it started

somework

When you're seeing 40 PSI in a cylinder there's a good chance something has gone horribly wrong (mechanically speaking). Just please make sure you don't have the one SIMPLE thing it could be before tearing into the motor.... a rocker adjusted down too far and hanging one off the valves slightly off it's seat. It can cause all the problems you describe and takes only a matter of minutes to fix.
If you can, back off the rocker nuts 1 turn each on both valves of #5 and try your compression test again. If it's suddenly much higher compression you've gotten lucky and all you need to do is properly adjust the valves.

I would reccomend doing a leakdown test on #5 and seeing where all that compression is going. I hope it's something simple for yah!

thanx guys for some input,so glad to finally start driving it haven't gotten around to actually tracking problem down, probably pulled valve cover next week, maybe even the leak down test, suspected a blown head gasket long before the accident anyways, use to get the milkshake, but only at the top of dipstick, and after highway long cruises, never saw the milkshake anywhere else, and coolant wasn't disappearing form overflow tank, but hey it's a 18 year old car with 103K,a couple of accidents, and no telling what was done before I even got it back in '02,the repair is long and costly,struts,A/C compressor, retro kit, accumulator etc,the engine (hope something easy)the rear end(housing),the brake with rotors, the headliner, the list seems to never end.hehehehe
