Sorry guys i got to fix this as its the last day for me to go get re tested for emissions. I put new plugs, cap and rotor on my 89 camaro and the thing won't turn over. My tach is stuck on 70, when I turn the key the water gauge goes up, and when I tried to hook my battery back up the alarm goes off and won't stop. I did everything one at a time, I don't know what could have gone wrong???

 

Does this car have a Viper alarm system on it? They are made to go into "tripped" mode if the battery is disconnected and reconnected. If you can't turn the alarm off with a working remote take that crap out.

 

I'd have to agree, sounds like an alarm problem.
