late model 434 stroker setup...check this out!

Thought you guys might find this engine build interesting.

I'm putting together another engine for my '94. Decided to go with a 434 and make adapters to run it in place of my LT1 which has worked out fine. Amazing what some aluminum and special grinders can make possible. But since it started out as a gen 1 and still is, this could work in a thirdgen just the same as anything else.

GM Bowtie block, bored/honed to 4.155 with torque plates.
OEM roller, 1 piece rear main seal, 'large bore' siamesed block

Eagle 4340 1 pc RMS 4" stroke crank, internal balance, 350 mains
Eagle 4340 H beam rods, profiled for 4" stroke, floating
Mahle flattop (5 cc VR) pistons, 1.00" CH, 1/16 1/16 3/16 ringset
ARP oil pump driveshaft
Melling high pressure oil pump
Canton LT1 F-body oil pan
Comp cams OEM true roller timing set
ARP bolts/studs throughout
keyed LT1 crankshaft hub
LT1 fluiddampr
CSR electric water pump with 1" spacers (to clear opti)

I'll be running this with ported dart pro 1 230's and a Pro-ram EFI single plane with a cam custom ground to the heads, when they are done. 60# injectors, 58mm throttle body, SD mode.

This engine could easily be used with a regular SBC timing cover and 350 style damper since it's internally balanced. The rear would require a non-counterweighted flexplate or flywheel, but you cant see it anyway. This would make a very nice sleeper shortblock, especially if you wanted to grind down the logo on the block/heads and sandblast over them to look like a factory offering. It can use a regular late model SBC oil pan, I am using the LT1 for chassis reasons.

No pics, I'm still deployed. Thought it would be something for some of you to chew on. I was going to use the dart but $1399 and a 1 pc seal and OEM roller capability did it for me. Nice alternative for the large inch TPI/carb guys, and they can keep the look of their 305/350's. I know there are a few guys who have heads that could benefit from a larger bore block for breathing purposes and this would save someone from having to buy another rotating assembly. And the cost of the block is more than reasonable.

This shortblock cost me under $3500, including all machine costs. Complete the engine will cost me $6000 complete with a custom cam, and this is 100% NEW.
