Help!!!

Ok guys here's the thing I'm the owner of an 84 z28. My thing is I was told that I blew a bearing but I'm not sure how accurate that is. I don't know what direction to go in from here. Of course money is a factor so the cheapest mose effecient way is what I'm looking for. Some say ls1 swap others just say rebuild. I'm not into building a powerhouse car at this point in time so I just want a nice running car so that I can enjoy all that a third gen has to offer. If anyone knows where I can go to get a good job at a decent price please help. I would love to have my car running and back on the road soon. I reside in Dallas, Tx but am willing to drive a few hrs if the price is right and the workmenship is worth it.

Thanks in Advance,

Juan David

Re: Help!!!

lol, it's not about having a good job but thanks anyway, lol. I just have other bills to pay like the note on my truck and well starting to get more serious with the G/F. And to answer your question I just want stock hp right now. Like I said I'm not looking to hit a drag strip anytime soon. Would like to have it as my daily driver, nothing else. Any ideas where I can go, or who I can talk to.

Re: Help!!!

if your new to engine modding or rebuilding or swapping for that fact, i HIGHLY recommend you avoid the ls1 swap. if you have another vehicle to drive, (your truck?), i would get all the things you need to pull the engine. pull your motor out, load it in your truck and take it to your nearest or respected mechanic. have them look it over, diagnose what you need, pay the -inspection fee and make your decision-get that engine fixed or find another. base your decision mostly on price, and partly on personal preference. keep in mind that your car is like 21 years old and that engine is gonna need ALOT of work regardless if you spun a bearing or not. if you can get that motor out with little effort(highly unlikely for anybody), you will know how to put a motor in, just reverse your process. make sure you LABEL EVERYTHING, organize everything ect. BTW, stock horsepower is no fun lol
