intermintent stalling on 91 gta
intermintent stalling on 91 gta
At 2100 rpms or so the car stalls with loss of power till rpm goes down to 1500rpm. Also at Idle touching the middle harness on the ecm(c-d) causes the engine to stall and blow black smoke. If you move the wires there at an idle it affects the way the motor runs, and it will come out of the stall.
This is the 5.7L TPI engine. Also it only gets 91 octane fuel and its always has more then a quater tank at all times.
Here is the list of things done to the car already.
FUEL PUMP
DISTRIBUTOR
TIMING
PLUG WIRES
PLUGS
INGTION MODULE
MAP SENSOR
KNOCK SENSOR
INTAKE GASKETS
FUEL INJECTOR O RINGS
O2 SENSOR
ECM (DIDN'T FIX THE PROPLEM)
PROM
OIL PRESSURE SWITCH
COOLENT TEMP SWITCH
COOLENT TEMP PIG TAIL
ALTERNATOR
BATTERY
VATS BYPASS
INJECTORS HAVE BETWEEN 19-4.9 OHMS RESISTANCES(know I need to change a few out)(these where bad before the stalling proplem)
MOTOR AND TRANNY REBUILT 15000 ON BOTH
PREVEIOUS OWNER INSTALLED 373 GEARS AND DIDN'T HAVE THE COMPUTER REPROGRAMMED FOR THEM
COMPRESSTION TESTS DONE ALL CYLINDERS OVER 150-160
FUEL PRESSURE TEST DONE BEFORE AND AFTER FUEL PUMP CHANGE 44-45#
COLD AIR INTAKE
ALSO CHECKED FOR VACUUM LEAKS AND FOUND NONE.
Any suggestions on what is causing the stalling would be a great help we are at our wits end. Thanks for any replies.
