Got my car going and I noticed that on my fuel psi gauge that I only have 3 psi at idle. Shouldn't this be at about 6 or 7 psi ??

 

Where is your fuel gauge, i have heard that some of the cheaper gauges wont read correctly if they get to hot.

 

Its a summit guage and it came with the adjustable fuel line. I have been fighting with gas in my oil for about 2 weeks. I had my new demon carb gone threw by a buddy and cleaned out and adjusted and now thats fine the needle and seat had crap in it and the floats where to high. So that isnt the problem any more. Now I am turning to my new holley 80 gph fuel pump might turn out to be a POS. I ahve changed my oil about 3 times now and I still get a gas smell in the oil. I just changed the oil yesterday and started it up and noticed that I am only getting 3 psi for fuel pressure. What are the odds the diaphram blew ?

 

I think it might be the pumps...

I have a new 110gph holley pump and pressure is great for a while, then drops right off and doesnt seem to back up much with rpms. The motor still runs fine though...

But i havent had the chance to verify the pressure with another gauge and also it looks like the suction line back to the tank may be an issue, the inline filter goes almost dry after a while.

 

I had a holley red in my car. Would hold 6psi all day long. Unless the pump is bad then you have a leak somewhere.
