Car: 1985 Firebird Trans Am.
Engine: 305 H.O. 4bbl
Transmission: 700R4.. I think
Axle/Gears: Not Sure, 3.73?
posi rear end??
alright im just curious how i would go about making my car posi, would i have to get a whole new rear axel or am i able to replace something or somethings in the diff itsenf? how much would it cost? thanks.

Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
A Powertrax unit installs in your non-posi carrier. Can be done with standard hand tools. About the same price as a posi carrier, but without the cost of having it installed.

It requires setting up the gears. Unless you're up to that task, it's best left to those with the tools and experience to get it right.
