Need advice
I just purchased a 1985 Z28 LG4 (base engine) with an automatic transmission.
The car is completely stock and original with only 29k miles on it, since 2002 it has only been driven about 800 miles.
The shifter seems to shift a little hard when I put it into drive and some times when shifting into second, especially if I'm accelerating quickly.
Seems to shift harder than I would have thought, would it be wise to have the transmission fluid and filter changed due to the lack of use? Is there anything else I should have done to it as well?
In addition the engine is also a little sluggish too, I know its only 155 HP but I had a 1979 Z28 with only 175HP years ago and I remember it was more lively, I'm hoping a good tune up will help as I'm sure the plugs, wires, and everything else is original from 1985.
Any and all advice is appreciated.
Thanks.

Not sure if your car is a carb or efi? If it is a carb make sure the choke is all the way open. Without a 4bbl working the car won't get out of its own way.

LG4 is carb'd.
Check the adjustment of the TV cable.
If it's hardly been driven, then the tranny fluid & filter probably have been neglected, so changing them can't hurt anything.
