what is the biggest size camshaft i can put in a 1990 305 engine
im not to sure how big the stock camshaft is and im looking in getting a bigger cam then the stock.

The xe roller computer compatible cams are a good bet. The first two would probably work, after that it gets dicey trying to tune it.
So, 114LSA, factory style roller cam, under 215* at .050" lift.

They're all pretty much the same size; 16 lobes, 5 journals, a dist gear.
You'd do alot better to ask what cam you should use that would be the best match to the rest of your combo.

With a TBI you're better off getting an LT1 camshaft from someone who upgraded their LT1 engine. Anything larger and the computer will throw a fit. There's a huge topic on LT1 camshafts in the TBI forum and many other tips to get you started.
