Anybody live in Las Vegas, NV? Help!!
I'm Trying to get this 1989 iroc 350 5.7 tpi running. The engine starts right up, loping idle, car drives but when i try to go fast it putts, and the reverse takes a few seconds to kick in, plus the guage cluster and acc fuse keeps popping. lol too many problems and i've been working on this car for three months and just tired.
+ I replaced most of the sensors except tps. I switched the iac from my other parts car to see what happens and cleaned the tb opening with carb cleaner, no luck there. Switched the maf to see what would happen and no change in idle response.
+ I replaced the transmission filter and found no metal shavings anywhere in the pan, so i figured it was ok by sight. Filled it with fluid to capacity. I adjusted the gear selector cable neutral to neutral method.
+ Multimeters and i haven't got along since i bought the thing, lol.
+ I disassembled the engine and replaced all valve seals and orings, cleaned the valve stems. Didn't touch the cam, timing chain or pistons. Adjusted the valves one by one hand cranking. And timed at 12* advance
+ New water pump
+ I can hear the fuel pump engaging during start, so that must be good.
Basically if anyone is here in vegas that can come over to help i'll pay like forty bucks an hour or so and a minimum of two hundred dollars to get this thing going again. fed up with this project because i'm not a mechanic, the only training i had was in high school shop class changing brake pads and oil.
