what have i done?

well as somebody suggested about my car, I did some WOT on the interstate to do some fp tests.....and the tach acted funny at 4000....then jumped to 5000 and shut off on me. I tried starting it again, no joy. So then I pulled the dipstick for engine oil.....a couple small bubbles on the dipstick. Nothing leaking....checked over and over again. Oil pressure looked fine when i was flooring it. I believe i heard a squeak/metal rubbing when I tried to restart it but didnt hear it after that. Thoughts?

Verify spark at the plugs. If it's not, check ignition voltage to the coil while cranking, dizzy turning, tach wire not shorted.
If sparks there, verify cam timing. The #1 exhaust valve should be almost closed and the intake just opening as the balancer mark passes 0° on the timing tab when rotor is pointing at #6 wire on cap.
If it's got spark and in time, try to start it on starting fluid to see if it is lack of fuel.
If it still won't start, a compression test of all cylinders is in order.

Re: what have i done?

zip tie is a cheap fix or just get another clip and splice away
